Businesses do take capital to grow, but sometimes you just need to expand your horizons so that you can be working within the constraints.
I think that constraint is actually really important for your business. And one of the places that I learned that, was a book called “Steal Like an Artist”.
I was reading this book and it made me think, “Huh, what can I do to grow my business without any money?”
And so I went looking and I found some ways that have been really unusual and worked for me.
So I've got three tips for you right now and then I've got a little offer for you at the end, so, stick around.
#1 – The first tip is to take 20 minutes in the morning to meditate and journal to make sure that you're working on the right priorities.
Now this is totally free and you may think, how does that help grow my business fast?
This is something that I learned from one of my mentors named Perry; and he teaches me this a lot. And it really is that it helps you distinguish the noise from what you really need to be working on.
This is a totally free thing. Anybody can find 20 minutes.
I do it in the morning with my toddler running around and I get a little bit distracted, but really, that daily time helps me really focused on the priorities for my business and what needs to be happening.
So that is something you need to do, totally free, and it will help your business grow fast because you'll be focused.
Focus is so important in a business. And I've spent lots of time working out a business that didn't have focus, which was brutal by the way.
#2 – So the second tip is to create a repeatable system.
I want you to think about the things that you do and I want you to think about what you do over and over and over and then how much of that can you get off your plate with technology or even maybe a very inexpensive virtual assistant.
So I have a virtual assistant, she has a lot of stuff for me and I realized that it is a luxury not everyone can afford, but I could also do a lot of these things in batching or in technology.
Zapier, if you haven't heard of that, is amazing! You can also take your inbox, do filtering on it so that you get a lot of that stuff out.
Like if you have receipts or stuff like that, I have a system that actually automatically filters all my receipts to different folders. So when it's tax time, I don't have to worry about that.
Think about those, and it doesn't have to be a big thing, it's just a little thing that gets out of your mind. And when that thing gets out of your mind, you've got more brain space to think about how to grow your company.
So really I'm talking about freeing up your brain space here because that's what makes your company grow fast. You are the fuel, you're the gas, and then you are also the gas pedal. So if you unclogged those lines of thinking, then you're going to go faster in your business.
#3 – And then the third thing is that if you have a customer base or you're starting one; the simplest thing to do without costing you any money is to send an email and follow up with them, whether they're your customers, a potential customer, whatever it takes.
Five to eight times of followup or continued care or whatever to get somebody to really love and trust you enough to get to know you and get your products.
I have a client right now, actually one of my best clients, they're awesome, but they initially said no to me. So when I first met them, I actually proposed something different than they were expecting.
I thought that's what their business needed and I said, “Hey, you know, I think this is what you guys need.” And they came back and said, “That's great Monica, but no thank you.” And I was like, no big deal whatsoever.
And then you know what? I kept in touch with them and then later hired me for other stuff and actually hired me for what I originally proposed.
Really, you just need to follow up because you never know when that person's ready to say yes or when the circumstances changed.
This is free to do. It just takes a little bit of time and it will help you grow your business because you've already established a relationship with that person and now you just need to build that relationship.
And followup doesn't have to be super crazy or anything. It could just be like, “Hey, you know, I saw this on your social media. I hope you had a great vacation” as simple as that. That just stay in their mind.
It can also be very direct like, “Hey, you still looking to do Xyz?“
I don't know if you have heard of the ‘Nine-word Email'. It's something along those lines like Are you still looking to blah, blah, blah, whatever it is that you're offering.
So those are my three tips.
I'm going to recap them real fast.
✏ So take 20 minutes to journal in the morning so that you know you're working on the right priorities.
✏ Then create a repeatable system and delegate it to software or a Va.
✏ And then the third one is to follow up, follow up, follow up and follow up until somebody says yes or a solid no.
And so those are the three things to help you grow your business fast without using any money.
I got three more ways to grow your business fast without using money, and they're so good that I don't really want to share them on the live.
So, send me a private message. And I will get this over to you.
Now you're really gonna want to see number three because I mean it's really good.
It's totally changed my business and I really want to share it with you, so if you want that send me a private message and I'll get that over to you.
All right. Have a fantastic day.
