I want to talk to you a little bit about how to make $1,200 in the next few hours. 🤑
You might think I'm a little crazy, but hear me out…
So, here's what I want you to do…
I want you to get out your computer or your phone or whatever and…
#1 – I want you to look at your bank statements and your credit card statements.
And what you're looking for are things that you pay on a subscription or recurring basis. So these could be yearly payments, quarterly payments, monthly payments- like your cable bill, your phone bill, or your internet bill.
Another common one is your car insurance or any sort of insurance. If you've got a home security system, your newspapers or anything digital, I know I paid for a lot of digital subscriptions, like my Amazon Prime. That's an example of a yearly one.
I want you to look back through the whole year if you can. This will take you a little bit of time and I get that, but I want you to highlight them.
Then…
#2 – Check and make sure you're using them all.
I want you to consider if you're REALLY using them.
Say you have a music service subscription and you listen to it once a week. Okay, if you really need that, fine. So take note of all those.
#3 – Go see if there's an alternative that has popped up.
Is there another free version available? Maybe.
Technology changes so fast that you may be able to get a free version of what the problem that subscription is trying to solve. And if so, cancel that service and switch to the free one.
For the ones you use a lot, like your cell phone or your internet, go to their website and see what they're offering now because they changed those plans all the time.
And also go look at your history and your usage. Like on your cell phone, if you're not using your plans' maximum, there would be a lower plan that you can drop too.
So, go take a look at that for those things that you definitely need in your life, like your cell phone or your Internet.
Go take a look to see what they're offering right now because it's probably a better deal than what you're paying.
And then you can either switch online because they make that easy sometimes. Or you can call them up and say, “Hey, I need to change my plan.” Now this does require you talking to somebody, but seriously, if it's worth the money, then give them a call.
The other thing is if you don't find those, you can actually negotiate with these people to get your bills lower.
And it's actually not that hard. They have an entire department dedicated to customer attention.
And here's why…
It costs a lot of money to get a new customer, especially in the highly competitive spaces like insurance, cable, and cell phones, right? It costs a lot of money. So it's actually really effective for them to give you a better deal than to try to find another customer.
So say you negotiate for $100 a month off of your cable bill plus your internet, so you've got everything bundled into one, then that only costs them $1,200 a year.It probably cost them at least three grand to get a new customer. So think about that when you negotiate these prices.
If you do all of these things together, I guarantee that you can probably find a hundred bucks a month that you could cut out of your life and your bills.
And with that 100 bucks a month in the next few hours, you've just made $1,200 for the year.
See how that works? Isn't that amazing?
So that's what you should do.
Recap.
đź’°Â Â You get all your credit card statements and all your bank statements and look back over the year and see what your subscriptions are.
đź’°Â Â Check to see if you even need them anymore.
đź’°Â Â Get look for alternatives for technology that has come up. It's free. And also see if the plan, whatever you're doing has a better deal online and see if you can just switch online or I want you to negotiate those prices down so that you are not paying more than you have to.
Okay?
